100 of 2023’s Best Songs, Unranked
By the end of every year, I have found hundreds of newly released songs I like, but they’re distributed across a dozen monthly playlists, and I feel like I forget some truly golden tracks. For background, I put out a new playlist at the beginning of every month, and my monthly playlists cover multiple genres and quite a few decades, but they are usually around 50% new music. That amounts to a lot of new songs over the year.
Enter my annual wrap-up of 100 of the best songs of 2023, or at least of songs I like and hope you will, too.
The full original playlist is about 6 hours and 7 minutes long and has 100 alternative, pop, electronic, R&B/soul, folk, hip-hop, indie rock, punk, singer/songwriter, jazz, country, alternative rap, metal, rock, indie pop, and alternative folk songs, all of which were released in 2023. The songs are in alphabetical order by artist, but you can play the playlist in any order you like. It makes a good minor chaos on shuffle.
