Schmutzie's February 2018 Mixtape
The songs in this month's playlist range from 1970 to 2017, which is a huge span of time musically, but I just couldn't skip putting Melanie's vintage "Look What They've Done to My Song, Ma" on at the beginning. It feels very much of the moment, what with The Man wrecking so many good things in the world right now. And then I feel very odd about concluding the whole thing with Ryan Gosling's bit from the movie La La Land, because it was a weak film with main characters whose chemistry would've worked better as comedic buddy detectives, but it feels like saying goodnight so perfectly after Feist's "Any Party".
