Schmutzie's February 2022 Mixtape

February 2022’s full playlist is about 3 hours and 10 minutes long and has 57 alternative, singer/songwriter, worldwide, folk, R&B/soul, blues, indie rock, alternative folk, rock, country, electronic, hip-hop/rap, easy listening, hard rock, pop, and jazz songs across 8 decades. 40% of the music is from 2021 and 2022. This playlist is available on Apple Music, Deezer, Tidal, Spotify (55 of 57 songs), and Amazon Music (53 of 57 songs), and, if you scroll to the bottom, you’ll find embedded widgets you can play right here. The songs are in reverse order by year and then alphabetically by artist within each year.

Dig’s “Barrie” is the track from the new 2022 songs that I keep playing on repeat. I think it’s partially because it sounds a bit Cranberries-esque, but I’m also a sucker for songs that fall down hills, which are those parts that start higher and run down to lower notes repeatedly. It makes me feel like we’re taking little tumbling leaps inside my chest:
